Nowa Praga will soon feature the “Nowa” mural

We are delighted to share with you the design of the mural that won our competition and will soon be displayed on one of the walls of our Nowa Praga development, located in Warsaw’s Praga Północ district. We wanted the mural to reflect the spirit, identity and history, as well as potential of the district which, thanks to developments such as Nowa Praga, has a chance for a new life. Warsaw’s Praga district is associated with an artistic atmosphere, and on its map you will find many buildings with distinctive paintings.

As Mr. Dawid Celek, the winner of the competition and the author of the design, explains, the mural depicts the figure of Warszawianka, a new female resident of Praga Północ, in whose silhouette elements of the district’s history and present day have been inscribed. From the bottom up, we move through Prague’s railway and industrial heritage, historic architecture, roadside shrines, street musicians, to elements of greenery, city transport and the urban rhythm of life. The entire mural is kept in brick and grey colours – characteristic of this development.

The mural is not only a form of artistic expression, but also part of a broader vision for the transformation and growth of this part of the city that we are planning. The first stage of the Nowa Praga development is already in advanced construction – it will be ready in the first half of 2026. However, this is only the beginning of the changes we are planning for this location. In this heavily concreted area, the developer plans to create an urban fabric that will give this place a second life in line with the direction of Warsaw’s growth. Our intention is to transform degraded areas into a multifunctional, thoughtful and friendly space for Varsovians to live comfortably, be active and relax.
