Metropoint Apartments housing estate will be the first residential investment in Poland to be recognized with BREEAM Very Good certificate.

The investment is developed by Asbud at Karolkowa Street in Wola district of Warsaw.  Such high recognition confirms that Metropoint Apartments is a project that is sustainable and economic in terms of maintenance as well as constitutes a resident- and environmentally-friendly investment.

BREEAM certificate is granted by the international organization BRE Global Ltd. and confirms that the developer has designed the investment in accordance with an abundance of both environmentally- and user-friendly criteria. Thus, Asbud confirms its approach towards construction of sustainable developer projects with special focus on environment protection.

Metropoint Apartments received favorable reviews in the areas of project design and construction management, which is conducted in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, access to public transport – especially urban communication and alternative means of transport – such as bicycles, which contribute to the reduced emission of atmospheric pollutants. Auditors also positively evaluated Asbud’s solutions applied during the development and aimed at reducing the volume of waste during construction works and building exploitation, project for recultivating the green areas and ensuring biodiversity of common areas along with solutions for reducing the building’s impact on the environment, such as excessive artificial light, noise, air, land and water pollution as well as energy-efficient solutions and, finally, the quality of building materials.

Furthermore, Metropoint Apartments was also favorably recognized due to the investment’s location – indicating that the building can be reached by any kind of transport functioning in Warsaw: metro, tram, bus or bicycle – as well as the use of energy-efficient LED lighting in common areas and economic KONE elevators. One should particularly note the plans for planting greenery that naturally grows in our climate zone: currant, woodbine, clematis, juniper, yew, wild strawberry etc., and locating bird houses on special pergolas for sparrows and useful titmouses as well as hives for red mason bees that are safe for people, do not sting and play an important role in the ecosystem.

Certification is in the “design stage” phase related to the construction project. The developer presented the investment objectives that were assessed at the Very Good level. At the end of the construction works another audit will be carried out. After confirmation of the objectives, the investment will receive the final document.

Metropoint Apartments is composed of two state-of-the-art apartment buildings (North & South) integrated into the newly developed frontage of Karolkowa Street. They are distinguished by modern architecture, unique green terraces and representative lobby. Both buildings will offer 331 apartments in total including both functional bedsits of 33 sq m of space as well as spacious 4-room apartments of up to 129 sq m.

The investment’s deliverance to market is scheduled at Q2 2019. The housing estate was designed by PS&P Arcus architectural studio. The general contractor is Budimex S.A., a company recognized as environmentally-friendly developer. ARCADIS Czech Republic s.r.o. is responsible for handling the certification process.

Metropoint comprises our first investment to obtain such high certification. We plan to develop further projects, providing both residential and office space. The market is becoming increasingly demanding.
